Nigel Jones brings to KoolSpan over 18 years of experience in operations, financial management, private equity, and mergers & acquisitions, with a demonstrated track record of success. Nigel has been a partner at private equity investment firm TWJ Capital since 2006. Prior to joining TWJ Capital, Nigel was a Principal at the Carlyle Group, where he was a member of the U.S. Buyout team focused on the aerospace, defense, and federal technical services sectors. Prior to joining Carlyle, he was an Associate in the Technology Investment Banking group at Goldman Sachs & Co.
Nigel holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts degree (magna cum laude) from Harvard University. Prior to business school, Nigel was a commissioned officer in the United States Marine Corps from 1991 to 1995, with a focus on secure voice and data communications. Nigel is a member of the Board of Directors of the Marine Corps Scholarship Fund.
Elad Yoran serves as CEO of Security Growth Partners (SGP) and Executive Chairman of KoolSpan. His nearly 20 years in the cyber security industry spans experience as an executive, investor, advisor and several-time successful entrepreneur. He works with leading cyber security companies and drives them to rapid growth. Elad also serves as Director at Infinidat, Red Owl Analytics and MKA Cyber.
Elad has been recognized as “Entrepreneur of the Year” by Ernst & Young. His entrepreneurial experience includes Riptech, a provider of managed security services to governments and Fortune 500 corporations around the world, acquired by Symantec Corporation; MediaSentry, a provider of anti-piracy technology solutions to the motion picture, music and software industries, acquired by SafeNet; Sentrigo, a provider of database security acquired by McAfee; and Vaultive, a pioneering cloud encryption company. In addition, Elad was a strategic investor in and advisor to NetWitness (acquired by EMC/RSA), ThreatGrid (acquired by Cisco), and Insightix (acquired by McAfee). Elad has also served as Vice President, Global Business Development at Symantec and as Vice President at Broadview International (acquired by Jeffries), an investment bank focusing on mergers and acquisitions in the technology industry, where he led the firm’s information security practice.
He is an advisor or director at the Army Cyber Institute (ACI), Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) New York Metro Chapter; and Trustee of the Jewish Chapel Fund, US Military Academy at West Point. Previously, he served on the FBI’s Information Technology Advisory Council (ITAC). Elad authored the Internet Security Threat Report, which was cited in briefings to the U.S. Congress. He served as an officer in the U.S. Army and is a veteran of Operation Restore Hope in Somalia. Elad holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. degree with honors from the United States Military Academy at West Point.
Bill Supernor brings to KoolSpan a robust track record of performance and innovation based on more than 20 years of combined engineering and management experience. Supernor joins KoolSpan from McLean, Va.-based Trust Digital, a leading provider of smartphone security management. Prior to Trust Digital, Supernor served in senior-level positions at Cognio, Symantec, and McAfee/Network Associates.
Supernor also served as a Lieutenant and Surface Warfare Officer in the United States Navy. Supernor graduated with honors from National University with a Master of Science degree in Software Engineering, and with distinction from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Julie A. Holdren
Julie Holdren brings to KoolSpan 25 years in executive-level positions for operations and product management within multiple technology and cybersecurity companies. In her role as Chief Product Officer Julie is responsible for the KoolSpan product family as well as all corporate operations.
Julie personally founded three start-up companies and served as CEO, including OGI (SharePoint Mobile Security software and Insider Threat product company), Twin-Soft (Enterprise Portal, Content Management and Business Intelligence service provider to the Federal Government) and Olympus Group (web application development provider to predominantly large commercial accounts). Following the acquisition of OGI by Fixmo, Julie was EVP of Collaboration Security Products for the secure mobile container company, and ran on-shore and off-shore development teams building next generation products. Julie also worked in product management at Sprint International, in data communications and messaging technologies.
Julie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from George Mason University. She was the alumnus of year of George Mason University and received the Outstanding Engineering Entrepreneurial award from the School of Engineering. Julie has testified before the U.S. Senate on technology workforce issues. She has also served on the White House Millennium Council, Boards of Directors of the Girl Scouts of the Nation’s Capital, the Alexandria Virginia Chamber of Commerce, and the Greater Washington Board of Trade.
Mark Pearson serves as KoolSpan’s VP of Product Management, driving product initiatives from idea to execution and leading efforts to support the current set of products and related features, while simultaneously crafting new offerings to support the future growth of KoolSpan.
He is responsible for coordinating with customers, the global sales team and the engineering staff to organize and deliver KoolSpan’s product roadmap, drive technology partnerships, and improve products and services to bring value to customers and partners. Mark also engages with Military and Law Enforcement customers, leveraging his background as a former army officer.
Prior to joining Koolspan in August of 2016, Mark worked in the same field, delivering encrypted communications solutions to enterprise customers, managing product offerings, and orchestrating sales operations. Prior to that, Mark worked in the United States and Europe as an independent security consultant (predominantly in the fields of technical and physical surveillance and intelligence development) and as an instructor to NATO Forces in “Attack the Network” operations.
Mark proudly asserts that he does not have a background in Project Management. He grew up in the British Army, where he was schooled in the dark arts of common sense and getting things done on time and to standard.
Mark is married and lives in Maryland. He enjoys Olympic Weightlifting and anything shared with his wife and three children.
Orville has over 17 years of database administration, systems analysis, software development, and product management experience. Currently responsible for leading KoolSpan TrustAPI, TrustCenter and Mobile Applications development teams, Orville can be credited with designing and developing KoolSpan’s TrustChip Development Kit (TDK) for Java, a Java API that allows applications to interact with and use KoolSpan‘s TrustChip on Android, Blackberry, Windows and Linux. Prior to joining KoolSpan in 2008, Orville was a Senior Game Developer at OpenPath Products LLC porting and developing numerous games and application for early mobile platforms such as Brew, J2ME and Symbian.
Prior to OpenPath Products Orville was a Senior Principle Engineer and Product Manager at Telecommunication Systems Inc. (TCS), responsible for TCS’s Wireless Internet Gateway and development of other products. Orville received a B.S. in Information Systems at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Rolando Monti has over 25 years of experience in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) industry, including over 20 years in Sales and Sales Management. Rolando is currently responsible for Koolspan Sales and Business throughout Europe.
Rolando started his career in Control Data Corp UK, in Engineering, was transferred to Italy and progressed in various Engineering Support positions until he was promoted to Engineering Services Country Manager with full Profit and Loss (P+L) responsibility.
Rolando extended his professional career into Sales Management, with various multinational companies including Compuware Inc., where he set up and managed marketing, the indirect sales organization and the corporate account sales teams, selling productivity tools for the application life cycle. During this period he was also involved in solution selling for the year 2000 and Euro conversion projects in Italy. He then moved to Netopia Inc. responsible for southern Europe sales of xDSL products and remote TR069 management tools, and then to Motorola in the Home & Networks Mobility organization, where he built an extensive sales experience in the Telco market for Wi-Max, LTE, xDSL and IPTV technology.
Rolando holds a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business and Computer studies from the City of London Polytechnic, and is an Advanced Management Program (AMP) alumnus from INSEAD (Fontainebleau – France).
Steve Kang has over 12 years of experience in the Information and Telecommunication Industry with extensive experience in Product Marketing, Account Management and B2B Sales Management.
Before joining KoolSpan, Steve worked at Motorola Mobility in Korea, where he led Go-To-Market Strategy and developed a strategic partnership with SK Telecom; facilitating a sell-in of Mobile Smartphones. Prior to Motorola, Steve held a Sales and Product Marketing position with Samsung Electronics, where he was involved in marketing innovative products across international markets. He then moved to Sales where he built up B2B sales and managed major corporate accounts selling IT components.
Steve holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from Korea University. Steve also served in the Republic of Korea Army where he was awarded a certificate of Appreciation from Air Vice-Marshal of the United States Air Force for outstanding contribution of service to the US Forces.
Paul has over 16 years of communications and cyber security experience including serving as a communications specialist with the United Kingdom Special Forces. Paul brings to KoolSpan extensive knowledge of the encrypted communications market place. As VP of Sales in EMEA, he is responsible for the growth of strategic European, Middle East and African markets as well as the tactical execution within direct government and enterprise sales.
Prior to joining KoolSpan, Paul specialised in the Encrypted Communications market developing and executing business plans throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa. He has extensive expertise in general management, sales, product innovation and operational leadership.
John Puente has 22 years of experience launching and scaling 6 emerging growth IT wireless and software companies into Latin America and the Caribbean, including two filings of Initial Public Offerings. From 2009 to 2014, John served as Vice President of Sales and General Manager at Cellcrypt where he launched an international rollout of their product suite, establishing Cellcrypt as the leader of voice encryption in Latin America. Prior to 2009, John was the VP of Sales and GM in Latin America at Orion for 7 years, preceding its acquisition by Loral Space Systems; and VP of Business Development and Sales for Qtel Global.
Prior to joining KoolSpan, TK Eppley was the Chief Product Officer & Chief of Staff for Silent Circle where he led global operations. Prior to Silent Circle, Eppley was a Program Manager and Senior Educator at Blackbird Technologies Inc. He is a retired U.S. Navy SEAL who has led and managed global operations throughout his decorated career.
