KoolSpan Partners with Altran Portugal to Bring TrustChip Suite of Secure Communications Products to Market

KoolSpan’s Industry-Leading Mobile Device Encryption Engine Ensures Safe and Secure Data and Content Delivery

BETHESDA, Md., July 7, 2014 – Altran Portugal, the global leader in innovation and high‐tech engineering consulting, has announced a partnership with Maryland-based KoolSpan Inc., (www.koolspan.com) to strengthen Altran Portugal’s existing Telco4Enterprise offer with Koolspan’s suite of hardware based security solutions, which includes TrustCall and TrustText, to protect confidential voice and text communication exchanges.

Telco4Enterprise capitalizes on Altran’s vast expertise and competence working for over 15 years with all major telecom players both in Portugal as well as internationally. With the addition of KoolSpan’s security solution, Altran is able to offer its customers a simple and secure solution to communicate critical and confidential information via mobile and fixed networks.

“The Telecom infrastructure of any company is vital these days. Our team offers a global solution that will not only prove cost efficient for our clients but it is also highly adaptable to their business needs,” said Bruno Casadinho Telecom & Media Business Unit Director at Altran Portugal.“ KoolSpan has a unique solution regarding data communication security and we are proud to enrich our offer with this partnership.”

Koolspan’s solution suite is based on its patented TrustChip®, a self-contained, security encryption engine that safeguards the uninterrupted flow of data communications from variety of mobile devices. TrustChip, which also powers security offerings for S-1, the Samsung-affiliated global leader in mobile security and Encrypted Mobile Voice, AT&T’s encryption platform, is NIST FIPS 140-2 compliant and uses AES256 encryption.

“Deployed in its own optimized hardware environment, rather than as a purely software only application, the TrustChip protects and insulates from today’s ever-increasing malware and illegal intercept security threats that can unknowingly reside in connected and mobile devices and platforms,” said Gregg Smith, CEO of KoolSpan.  “Since KoolSpan’s security application resides in the TrustChip rather than in software, every data transaction, such as voice calls or data transmission is coded with a secret, unique series of encryption keys that are generated and stored inside the TrustChip. We are excited to formalize our partnership with Altran Portugal and look forward to the business opportunities in the commercial marketplace that this partnership will offer to both parties.”
