(September 20, 2016) — In response to growth in demand globally, KoolSpan, Inc., announced today that it has appointed noted secure communications experts TK Eppley, Mark Pearson, John Puente and Paul Wood in executive global sales and product management positions. These experts’ careers protecting sensitive data for some of the world’s most demanding and sensitive organizations add to KoolSpan’s expertise as the company grows its business providing encrypted mobile communications to strategic customers and partners around the world.

In order to best serve customers including international enterprises and executives, high net worth families, government agencies, lawyers, finance professionals, R&D organizations and others, KoolSpan named TK Eppley VP of Sales, North America, Mark Pearson as VP of Product Management, John Puente as VP Sales Latin America and the Caribbean and Paul Wood as VP of Sales, Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Eppley, Pearson and Wood come to KoolSpan after serving in a variety of executive roles within Switzerland-based Silent Circle.  Puente joined KoolSpan after serving most recently as the founder of an IT consulting practice following a five-year stint with Alexandria, Va.-based communication provider, Cellcrypt.

With the appointment of Eppley, Puente and Wood, KoolSpan is tapping into their collective experience to enhance operations and sales in the North American, LATAM/Caribbean and EMEA regions. Pearson is being charged with driving product initiatives from idea to execution and leading efforts to support KoolSpan’s current set of products and related features while simultaneously crafting new offerings to support the company’s future growth.

Prior to joining KoolSpan, TK Eppley was the Chief Product Officer & Chief of Staff for Silent Circle where he led global operations. Prior to Silent Circle, Eppley was a program manager and senior educator at Blackbird Technologies Inc.  He is a retired U.S. Navy SEAL who has led and managed global operations throughout his decorated career.

Mark Pearson was previously the VP of Products for Silent Circle, where he was charged with delivering encrypted communications solutions to enterprise customers, managing product offerings and orchestrating sales operations. Prior to that, Pearson worked in the United States and Europe as an independent security consultant and as an instructor to NATO Forces in “Attack the Network” operations.  He is a veteran of the British Army and United Kingdom Special Forces.

With a 22-year career launching and scaling emerging growth IT wireless and software companies in the Latin America and the Caribbean market, Puente served as Vice President of Sales and General Manager at Cellcrypt from 2009-2014. Prior to that, he was the VP of Sales and GM in Latin America at Orion, a Rockville, Md.-based multinational provider of private, multimedia, network communications services for 7 years, preceding its acquisition by Loral Space Systems; and VP of Business Development and Sales for Qtel Global.

Paul Wood has over 16 years of communications and cyber security experience developing and establishing a market for encrypted communications throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa. His experience includes serving as a communications specialist with the United Kingdom Special Forces and VP Sales EMEA at Silent Circle. Previously, he founded numerous UK-based companies that specialized in cyber security, personal protection, surveillance and investigations, high-value assets, property security, business security and risk assessments.
