KoolSpan to Launch Cybersecurity LifeJourney to Help Build the Next Generation of Cyber Professionals
LifeJourney E-Learning Program Brings Companies and Students Together to Educate and Empower Today’s Youth
KoolSpan Inc., developer of a suite of patented hardware-based mobile security applications, announced today that it will join LifeJourney to lead a Mobile Security Architect career simulation experience aimed at inspiring our nation’s youth to pursue career opportunities in the growing field of cybersecurity.
LifeJourney is a web-based, interactive classroom experience where schools enable their students to “test drive” future careers in cybersecurity by enabling them to live a day in the life of one of America’s cybersecurity leaders, from companies like KoolSpan. Students are able to test drive over 100 different cybersecurity LifeJourneys (e.g., Digital Forensic Analyst, Cyber Threat Manager, CISO, SCIF Designer, etc) allowing them to experience a variety of cyber careers by providing invaluable insight into the necessary skills and journey needed to succeed in the industry.
Gregg Smith, CEO of KoolSpan, will join teachers, principals and students on stage at “Building the Cyber Generation” at the upcoming CyberMaryland 2013, the multi-faceted conference, competition, TECHEXPO cyber hiring event and awards celebration designed to showcase industry innovations, recognize cyber pioneers and groom the next generation of cyber experts.
During the ribbon cutting ceremony, the nation’s first Cyber Resume will be presented to the first high school boy and girl by Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Branch Chief of National Cybersecurity Education, Montana Williams.
“The growing demand for cyber security professionals is undeniable and will only continue to grow as new technologies emerge,” said Gregg Smith, CEO of KoolSpan. “Innovative programs like this are integral to help cultivate and build up our ranks of cybersecurity talent. We are thrilled to be a part of this initiative.”
