KoolSpan is proud to join a group of the world’s leading cyber security technology companies, selected by Dr. Edward Amoroso, CEO of TAG Cyber. KoolSpan’s mission is to secure phone calls and text messages for everyone the world over, on standard smartphones. We believe making a secure call or sending a secure text should be as easy as making a regular phone call.

The 2019 TAG Cyber Security Annual is designed to provide direct advisory guidance – at no cost – to the enterprise cyber security professional. Their work is created to help cyber defenders more effectively deal with the technical challenges of our industry.

The TAG Cyber Security annual identifies fifty different aspects of enterprise cyber security management that are essential to any modern information risk reduction program, which they define as cyber security controls. One critical, often overlooked control is ‘voice security.’ Over the past few years, voice communications have become increasingly mobile-based, and thereby increasingly vulnerable to a range of new cyber threats including SS7 and DIAMETER exploits, and IMSI catchers, among others. Calls can easily be intercepted from anywhere in the world, regardless of where the call is made or received. The encouraging news is, mobile calls can be encrypted end-to-end, entirely bypassing the threat and ensuring conversations can never be intercepted.

Each year, TAG Cyber publishes it three-volume report to the community for download.

Nigel Jones brings to KoolSpan over 20 years of experience in operations, financial management, private equity, and mergers & acquisitions, with a demonstrated track record of success. Nigel has been a partner at private equity investment firm TWJ Capital since 2006. Prior to joining TWJ Capital, Nigel was a Principal at the Carlyle Group, where he was a member of the U.S. Buyout team focused on the aerospace, defense, and federal technical services sectors. Prior to joining Carlyle, he was an Associate in the Technology Investment Banking group at Goldman Sachs & Co. Nigel holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts degree (magna cum laude) from Harvard University. Prior to business school, Nigel was a commissioned officer in the United States Marine Corps from 1991 to 1995, with a focus on secure voice and data communications. Nigel is a member of the Board of Directors of the Marine Corps Scholarship Fund.
