KoolSpan Selected Among SINET 16 Innovators from Pool of Over 200 Applicants to Present at 2011 SINET Showcase

Bethesda-Based Provider of Mobile Encryption to Present Oct. 26th in Washington, D.C. in Showcase of Best Technologies to Defeat Global Cybersecurity Threats

Bethesda, Md. – Oct. 6, 2011 – KoolSpan, developer of the TrustChip family of plug-in mobile security solutions, today announced that it has been selected as a SINET 16 Innovator. KoolSpan will present its mobile encryption technology during the 2011 SINET Showcase to be held October 26th at the National Press Club in Washington D.C., supported by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Science & Technology Directorate. The Security Innovation Network (SINET) initiatives are designed to advance innovation and enable collaboration between the public and private sectors to defeat global cybersecurity threats.

More than 100 emerging technology companies applied and were carefully vetted in a two-stage process by the SINET Showcase Steering Committee for the opportunity to present innovative and potentially disruptive cybersecurity solutions to an audience of representatives from defense, homeland security, intelligence and civilian federal agencies as well commercial, investment and research communities. KoolSpan will be one of sixteen companies presenting on stage.

“We are thrilled and honored to be among the SINET 16 and look forward to the opportunity to showcase our mobile encryption technology to such an influential and important audience,” said KoolSpan CEO Gregg Smith.

“The excellent quality of KoolSpan’s technology in the mobile device space will help advance innovation in an exponentially growing market and address the need to protect voice and data from hacking,” said Robert Rodriguez, Chairman and Managing Principal of SINET. “The quality of the companies we saw in this year’s SINET 16 Innovator process was exceptional, which made selections very challenging for the steering committee. We are confident that by raising awareness of KoolSpan and other finalists, they will have a direct and significant impact on meeting the most pressing technology needs of Federal Government and private industry – and ultimately, the protection of our nation’s critical infrastructures and command and control systems.”
