KoolSpan CFO to Join Panel on Foreign Technology Risks at RSA®

Nigel Jones Joins Panelists from the National Security Agency, Venable LLP and the Norwegian National Security Authority to Discuss Risks in Critical Industry Sectors

Bethesda, MD and San Francisco, CA (February 13, 2014) — KoolSpan CFO Nigel Jones will join a distinguished panel of cyber security experts in a discussion on critical issues involved in foreign technology risks at this year’s RSA® Conference, the world’s leading information security conference and exposition in San Francisco, February 24-28, 2014 at the Moscone Center.

The panel, “Facts vs. Fear: Foreign Technology Risks in Critical Industry Sectors,” will take place on Tuesday, February 25, 2014, from 2:40 PM – 3:40 PM (Room 2009).

With political rhetoric stifling practical discussion in Washington, the panel will seek to address the concerns of U.S. government and critical infrastructure buyers by identifying key vulnerabilities in foreign-developed technologies. Moderated by Jerry Caponera, General Manager, Global Partnerships and Director, Prescient Business Unit, CyberPoint LLC, the panel features four seasoned security experts from the public and private sector who will speak to stakeholders’ critical security and trade issues, and discuss necessary steps for effective vetting, beyond the uncertainty and impracticality of current policies.

The four panelists include:

  • Debora Plunkett, Information Assurance Director, National Security Agency
  • James Barnett, Partner, Co-Chair Telecom/Cybersecurity Practice, Venable LLP
  • Nigel Jones, Chief Financial Officer, KoolSpan
  • Roar Thon, Senior Advisor, Norwegian National Security Authority
