With a Nod to Samsung Knox, UK Government Certifies Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge

We congratulate our partner Samsung on the recently announced certification of their latest flagship models, the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge, by the UK government’s Communications and Electronics Security Group (CESG) as part of their Commercial Product Assurance (CPA) program for data-at-rest.

Samsung Knox is the secure platform native to Samsung’s Galaxy S6 and S6 edge devices that deserves credit for the certification. Knox has been acknowledged as a secure platform, encrypting data-at-rest and fully segregating business and personal apps and data on the devices. Today, many employees use their mobile devices for both work and personal activities, and businesses require a means of separating work and personal use securely and efficiently. Samsung Knox provides a seamless solution, enabling business users to easily separate their personal and professional activities by using the Knox container as a secure workspace for enterprise applications and data, and utilizing the space outside of the container for personal applications.

The UK joins various governments around the world including the United States, Finland and Russia in certifying Samsung – with its Knox security platform – and approving for use within government organizations.

Nigel Jones brings to KoolSpan over 20 years of experience in operations, financial management, private equity, and mergers & acquisitions, with a demonstrated track record of success. Prior to business school, Nigel was a commissioned officer in the United States Marine Corps from 1991 to 1995, with a focus on secure voice and data communications. Nigel is a member of the Board of Directors of the Marine Corps Scholarship Fund.
